Illinois Bicentennial Coordinating Committee Announces Kickoff December 3, 2017
The Illinois Bicentennial Coordinating Committee (IBCC) is pleased to be corroborating on this event with the Illinois State Museum as we officially kickoff the upcoming Bicentennial Celebration at the ISM-Research and Collections Center, 1011 E. Ash St., Springfield IL. Join us as we come together to celebrate Illinois, its past, present and future. The ISM unveils the best of its Illinois Legacy Collection consisting of 13.5 million objects on display in an exhibition that will open next summer.
In addition to today's event at the Research Center, the IBCC has been hard at work on many programs in such areas as History, Economic & Civic Engagement, Youth and Education, the Arts, and Health and Human Services. The IBCC will be revealing more details on these activities on December 3, 2017 during our brief press conference.
Though the IBCC's programs are primarily focused on Springfield, as we celebrate Illinois' past, present and future, we are happy to also have a relationship with the Illinois Bicentennial Commission. We look forward to celebrating Illinois together in 2018.
